By William Donahue
This week on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, comedian Robin Williams plugged his upcoming movie, License to Wed. In the film, Williams plays a Protestant minister who forces an engaged couple to go through a grueling marriage preparatory course.
But then Williams went off on Catholic priests, painting them all as pedophiles.
Williams pretended to be playing a game where the pedophile is hidden under a cup. "Here we go. Find the priest, find the pedophile. Find the priest, find the pedophile. Here you go right now. Move 'em around, move 'em around. Oh, you found the pedophile."
Williams then put his hand over his groin, saying, "You have to realize that if you are a Catholic priest, you have retired this. That's it - no more sex." Then he took a shot at confession: "But they are going to put you in a small dark box and people are going to tell you the nastiest sexual stuff they have done."
Isaiah Washington lashes out at one gay person in private, and he is banished from Grey's Anatomy. Robin Williams lashes out against all priests in public, and he suffers no consequence.
To top it off, Williams suggests that most molesting priests are pedophiles, when in fact they are homosexuals. But to make a joke about gay priests could get him into trouble. So it's better to lie. This is justice - Hollywood style.
One more thing: in an interview with MoviesOnline, Robin Williams recently said that "you can't poke fun at certain religions," noting that "we just made major fun of the Catholic Church but hey, they don't blow you up."
So not only is Williams a bigot and a liar, he's a coward. No wonder he's so well received in Tinseltown.

Donahue,
First things first the priest that have been accused of molestation in the media and courts for the past few years are not gay, homosexuals don't sexually abuse children, pedophiles do. What is wrong with a straight forward (yet humorous/sarcastic) approach to the truth about the inapproprate conduct of human beings in the Catholic Church, let alone the church itself. You whine because you don't like it?? So what, I don't care for people who look down on others because their religious beliefs don't meet the standards they hold, yet I don't blog all over the internet about it. You’re not really looking for a call to sanctifying ourselves, our work and our world. I think your just a sanctimonious person.

Robin Williams is not the issue here, he is just a comedian. What he said on Jay Leno was not entirely inaccurate. For years the Catholic church swept the issue of molesting boys under the rug. Leaders of the church moved these priests around to other locations, paid off the victims and forced them to not speak a word. Is this right? NO. There are many other comedians that make fun of other religions, race, sexual orientation and other things - yet no one speaks a word about them. Have you watched the comedy network recently?? Maybe you should, because you would be writing your nonsense all day long -

No, no Donahue is right, these things should never be laughed at or discussed openly or even admitted. The church has a right to intimidate witnesses, buy off law enforcement, lie and cover up just as they've done for the last fifteen hundred years or so. None of these molested children and their parents would have any problems if they just had more blind faith and forgave the priests, right? I mean, come on, it was intolerant bigots who stopped the Inquisition and that was just the good Catholic church torturing and murdering righteously all those who weren't already in their back pocket. So give faithful shills like Donohue a break here will you?

Google "Jewish Rabbi Molestation boy" and you will find many hits about Rabbi's who are pedophiles (mostly local papers and Jewish journals). Where is the Major National Media coverage on this? It is supressed to prevent anti-Semitism. But it is open season on Catholics. Phil Donohue, Ted Kennedy, and Rudolph Gulianni are liberal pro gay pro choice Catholics. They go to church. Hollywood and The Media lie.
